Online gambling in Portugal

Portugal’s online-gambling framework is supervised by SRIJ. Licensed entities and approved domains are published officially, with permitted products tied to each licence. A foreign or EU licence does not replace Portuguese authorisation, and a familiar brand may use a different approved domain.

Verify before depositing

  • Match the legal company and exact domain in the current SRIJ list.
  • Check that the licence covers the product you intend to use.
  • Confirm the payment beneficiary and avoid mirror sites or unofficial apps.
  • Read identity, bonus, inactivity and withdrawal terms first.

Protection and complaints

SRIJ’s centralized self-exclusion option can block access across licensed Portuguese sites, with a minimum period set by the service. Operator-level limits and exclusions are also available. Keep account statements, bet IDs and correspondence. Submit a written complaint to the operator and use the competent Portuguese complaint or regulatory channels with evidence. Contact the bank quickly if fraud is suspected.
