Lithuania licenses remote betting, casino games and other online gambling through the Gaming Control Authority. A company needs both the relevant licence and permission, with approved game rules, and the Authority publishes legal operators and illegal websites. Since May 2025, card payments to entities outside the authorised list may be blocked. This guide explains verification, payments and complaints.

Remote gambling in Lithuania

The Gaming Law requires a remote-gambling licence, permission to organise the activity and approved regulations for the relevant game. The Gaming Control Authority publishes operators and authorised websites as well as illegal-service information. A foreign licence or accessible Lithuanian interface is not enough.

Verify before depositing

  • Match the company, exact domain, licence and permission in the Authority’s records.
  • Confirm that the approval covers the product you intend to use.
  • Check the illegal-operators list and avoid mirror domains.
  • Verify the payment beneficiary and do not use personal accounts.

Payments and complaints

From May 2025, payment providers must restrict certain card transactions involving entities outside the authorised remote-gambling and lottery lists. Use a method in your own name and keep statements, bets and messages. Complain to the operator and then provide evidence to the Authority. Contact the bank immediately if fraud is suspected.

Responsible gambling

Set firm limits, never borrow and do not chase losses. Use the register for people restricting their gambling, operator controls and professional support when needed.
