Barbados has laws for lotteries, betting businesses and gaming at approved premises. What gambling is regulated in Barbados?

The Betting and Gaming Act, Cap. 134A provides for specific lottery, pool betting, bookmaking, gaming-machine and premises arrangements. Its sections 34–38 require registration of relevant pool-betting or bookmaking businesses and premises. The Revenue Authority explains that separate betting and gaming duties and fees apply. These are product- and venue-specific permissions, not a general approval stamp for a website that can be opened in Barbados.

Are online sportsbooks and casinos locally licensed?

The reviewed Acts and official licence material did not identify a dedicated current Barbados licence for a consumer-facing remote sportsbook or online casino. A 2022 government expression of interest concerning a Gaming Commission was a proposal, not proof of an operating online regulator. How do local venue and age rules differ?

Cap. 134A distinguishes gaming away from licensed premises from gaming on approved premises or at registered clubs. Sections 7 and 10 restrict certain banked games and under-18 participation in the Act's Part II category; section 13 sets separate in-person conditions for the licensed-premises category. That distinction prevents a blanket claim that all games, ages or venues follow one rule. A venue should show the specific licence or registration and the eligibility conditions for its product. What does Betano's Barbados restriction mean?

No Barbados Betano edition or local authorisation emerged from the recorded edition search. Its international-service terms expressly exclude Barbados residents. Currency, payments and player care

The Barbadian dollar (BBD) is the country's sole legal tender. Domestic bank transfers and cards are common payment channels.
